UIK välkomnar målvakten Camri Cecil till staden och klubben! Camri är född 1999 och uppväxt i Austin i Texas. Här följer en intervju på engelska med ”Cam” som landade i Umeå under gårdagen.

Welcome to Umeå and Umeå IK! Let us know, how do you feel?

-I’m very excited and blessed for this opportunity. After reading about the club’s great history, I’m very excited to be a part of this next chapter and hopefully make some more history.

What as your expectations of coming to Sweden and being a part of Umeå IK?

– I’m excited to hit the ground running and immediately contribute everything I have to the club, on and off the field. I can’t wait to get to know my teammates and coaching staff, and build strong relationships that can help the club succeed this season and achieve promotion to Damallsvenskan.

Tell our followers about your career so far.  

-After playing collegiate football in the NCAA in my home state of Texas at The University of Texas at Tyler, I played in Israel’s Premier League. I learned some very important lessons, in football and in life, and I’m glad to carry those experiences with me into this new chapter of my football career.

What are your best skills as a goalkeeper?

-I’m athletic and quick, my agility and speed are some of my greatest strengths as a goalkeeper. I can cover a lot of ground and manage my box well, and my athleticism makes me a great shot stopper. My distribution is also a strength, I love to play out of the back and start the attack.

-You can expect me to give every ounce of my energy to the club. I can’t wait to get started. I enjoy the daily work that it takes to be great, and I will bring that joy and that commitment to excellence to the club and the fans.
