Intervju med Erin Nayler

Erin Nayler, Welcome to Umeå and our club Umeå IK! Tell us about your first weeks in Sweden!

-Tack! This is the first time I have ever been in Sweden and so far I love it. Everyone in the team has been very welcoming and
Umea is a cool city. There are lots of things to do and I love that it’s a very outdoor/ sports-oriented place.

So tell us about your self and your career so far.

-I’ve been the goalkeeper for the New Zealand national team for almost ten years now and I’m very grateful for the
experiences I’ve had. I’ve been to 2x Olympic Games and 3 World Cups which have all been incredible. Before coming to
Umea, I played for Lyon and Bordeaux in France, and then Reading (UK)

What´s your best memory in your own career so far?

-My best memory would be receiving player of the match at the Canada World Cup 2015 in our game vs Canada.

What did you know about Umeå IK before you got here?

-I knew a bit thanks to my New Zealand teammate – Ali Riley. She gave me a quick history lesson of Umea and the teams reign
at the top!

Have you learn some swedish yet? Come on give us some example!

-I have learnt a little! Jag heter Erin. Jag talar engelska och lite franska (and hopefully soon svenska!)

At last. What is your message to our fans, followers and sponsors before the season.

-From my experience, support from fans is really important to the team. This season it can really be the difference as to whether
we win or lose a game. I’m really excited for this season and to meet the fans behind the club! Hopefully more and more fans will
get behind our team which will only help drive the team forward!
